It's Christmas time...

YAY!!! I love Christmas time. even with this shitty economy I'm trying to look past that and keep with the "Holiday Cheer", so time for a face lift!! You like?

Anyway - I started Christmas shopping on Black Friday, OMG was that HELL haha - Trying to get anything done with baby in tow, is a little hard!! To say the least though - we had a good time. I got some shopping done. More for me than any one else.. hahah.

I also went today and got Tristan's Christmas photos done and for some reason when its time to perform for the camera he gets a little shy.. meaning no smiles and looks of "what are you doing"? and "Why is everyone yelling at me to smile"? So here are some photos from today.

We were also supposed to go to Glendale Glitters in Downtown Glendale. We did not make it there on Friday night. I was pretty bummed and I blame this on my friend who flaked on me!! (Jerk) - So I told John we are going to go next week since he is at the Dunes this weekend. Its back to work on Monday after my wonderful and chill 4 days off.. :(
Oh and I tried to decorate but that's alittle hard to do when your Fiance's project truck and sand rail are unmovable with out "Manly" help to get them outta the way, to get up in the attic.. I was looking forward to getting all my Christmas decorations down, turn on some holiday music and jam out with Tristan to Christmas Carols. Oh Well - this will be our project next weekend!! Thats my update!!

And I leave you with my love bug.. He is just so cute (yes its my biased opinion) but I could eat him up!!

Happy Decorating and Christmas Cheer!!

Happy Turkey Day!!

Okay so I'm one day late but I was exhasted yesterday after cooking my first turkey, stuffing and making yummy sides.. So you will have to give me a break..
~~So normally we go to my Moms for Thanksgiving hence I don't have to cook the turkey or do any of the leg work. Well not this year.. This year was ALOT different.. Sad kinda just because none of my family wanted to spend it together. I guess when you work with your ENTIRE family 340 -352 days out of the year.. you kinda need that break away.. So whatever me and John have our own family now and made the best of it.. My Mom was supposed to go out of town as well but ended up not going so she came with us to John's cousins house. It was a quit Thanksgiving dinner with just Johns Cousin Desiree, Daniel, Me, John, Me, T, Johns Dad and my Mom.. So.. on to my Turkey expierence!!

So on Sat- I went and got a fresh organic turkey form Trader Joe's, and I looked up recipes to cook an old fashioned turkey.. Well I came up with nothing that looked intresting , but John did. So with recipe in hand I was good to go to make my FIRST turkey and stuffing..

~ Thursday Morning I woke up- excited to start this process, wondering mmm will it turn out, am I gonna fuck this dinner up?? Well here are the results my ladies or well whoever reads this.. My turkey was "THE BOMB",, Oh yes it was!!!

John tried to take credit for all my hard work.. I dont think so buddy!! This was all my turkey and it turned out GREAT!! It was so moist and juicy and I couldn'y have done a better job if someone asked me to!! haha.. Yep I'm giving props to myself!!

Now, I credit the fact that my turkey was so moist and juicy in part to it being organic and fresh.. My Mom always buys butterballs that are frozen and yes those are great too (who can complain about a Moms cooking? NOT me) but I loved the fact that my turkey was fresh!!

So I did make stuffing too and yea that didnt turn out so well!! I will admit it, it was actually really gross but, in my defense I just followed the recipe and it was just BLEH!!

So on another note it was Tristan's 1st Thanksgiving and it was OUR first Thanksgiving as a family!! So I had to take a pic.. So excuse my look but I was sweating all day in the kitchen and running around - so I made the best of it.. haha
and I couldn't resist these pics of Daddy and T playing on the floor together.. John doesnt get to spend as much time with T as I know he would like so it was nice to see him have his time with him..

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

Whoa!! 4 Months Old!!

Holy Cow.. you say?? Yep Baby Tristan is 4 months old!!

I waited to post this until we went to his 4 month Dr. Appt. Which went exceptionally well, minus the fact that he got shots. Poor baby. He did not like those.

Tristan weighs in at 19lbs 4oz and is 27 in long.. Yes he is "Huge" for a 4 month old.. Good genes I suppose.. hahah. .He is in his 97% percentile for his age group, and is at the rate of a 6 month old. Which in my book is fantastic!! He's very advanced for his age and I couldn't be happier about that..

She did not like the fact that he is eating rice cereal already but I really don't care. Tristan is very well ready for it and enjoys eating it. I don't give it to him morning, noon and night. He only gets rice cereal at night and it is only 1 TBLS. I did this to help coat his stomach due to him always spitting up. The Dr. said his spitting up is his reflux, which is fine but I'm not going to shove medicine down his throat if it does nothing to help him.

Here is what he has been doing..

started rice cereal at 3months 3 wks old - didn't know what to think at first, but now loves it.

He rolled from his back to his tummy at 3 months 4 weeks and 1 day. and well hasn't done it since.. I suppose I should work on that.. He still hates being on his tummy longer than 2 minutes.. but pushes his self up to see..

Loves to stand on our laps- forget about sitting this boy wants to stand!! Early walker??

He is now grabbing for things that are a distance away, has a good grasp and loves to suck on his hands. He brings both hands together.

the best part is the fact that he is very ticklish.. He cracks up when we tickle his neck and his back.. Its that kinda laugh that is contagious and makes both me and John laugh..

I'm sure there are many other milestones I'm forgetting to put down. but he's learning quickly and getting big so fast.. I'm excited to see him learn and do more things..

I leave you with some 4 month pics..

3 Month Pictures

Better late than never, Right?
Well we did Tristan's 3 month Photo shoot on Oct 19th. We were supposed to meet up with our photographer at Tempe Town Lake for a night shoot, but when we got there it was packed with people- I'm guessing they were having an event. So our photog suggested we go to ASU..
Me, being the first time Mom I am.. I decided to bring props to set the stage..so I brought some pumpkins, a haystack and various other things - We also brought Tristan's Halloween outfit.. We had a great time as always and Shelly got some really cute photos of Tristan and all of us as a family.. I love being able to do these. So much potential for natural shots and your not continuously posing..
So here are a few of my Favorites..

and now for Halloween.. We decided to Dress Tristan up in the not so original "Pumpkin" Outfit every one seems to do for there baby's 1st Halloween.. We chose "The HulK" and it fit him to a T!!

And for the last image.. That I absolutely LOVE.. I don't think you could even try to pose for this one..

Thank you Shelly from Ivy Studios for doing these for us.. This completes our Baby Love Sessions.

Baby Weekly Questions

Jenni, do you have any lullabies or songs that you sing to Tristan? It doesn't even have to be a lullaby; he loves music and hearing your voice at this age, and will probably enjoy any music you expose him to. This week in your journal write down any type of music or specific songs that Tristan really seems to enjoy. Write down his reaction when you dance around or sing to him.

Okay - Well.. I have to laugh at myself on this one, remember your beginning school days of when you would sing lullabies or I should say nursery rhymes? Well I remember those days but for the life of me can NOT remember the words to any nursery rhymes or lullabies!! Yea I suck.. So I need to get on this quick!! hahah
I wish I could sing Lullabies and little nursery rhymes to Tristan but like I said I don't know any. So there's the answer to that question.
As far as Tristan liking anything in particular I will say Yes.. For some reason and this has to go back to when I was pregnant with him.. Anytime Seether "Fake it" would come on he would go absolutely nuts in my belly.. Yea John is a witness..I like that song- it gets me going.. So of course I listened to it daily.. Well now when I play it he gets all crazy as well.. I will have to video him.. Its so cute.. so that's one song he enjoys and I don't have to sing it to him. haha Could you imagine me singing that to him.. yea no thank you!! As far as other music we listen to its mostly Mommy's music and its usually country or something girly..
Oh and me dancing around.. makes him laugh.. Well I usually dance around with him in my arms and he gets a kick out of it.. At night when I'm getting him ready for bed I have a music player in his room and a cd of slower songs that I like and some that I remember listening to with my dad, one of them is by Van Morrison "Into the Mystic". I love dancing with Tristan to this song, when this song comes on he knows its almost time to go to sleep and he snuggles right into my chest and just lays there while I sway around, sometimes I don't even dance with him I will just put it on and sit in my rocking chair while I'm feeding him his last feeding for the night and again he just snuggles right up into my chest.... John laughs at me when he sees me, but I think he's secretly jealous.. hahah.. So I'm sure this will be one of his memories.. or at least I hope it will be.. :0)

That's all for this week.. :0) Except Tristan will be 4 months old on Nov 9.. So I will be posting pics and updates then... :0) Have a good weekend.

2 Very Important things

that are going on today!!

First and formost..... It's John's 30th Birthday!!! 30 years old!! WOW!!! haha Today he woke up and I said, "So How does it feel to be 30?" He just looked at me and said "I feel Old". Thats it!! I really dont think being 30 is old niether do I think turning 40 is old.. I guess in a sense until you hit about 60-70's I dont consider the other numbers as being old.. It also depends on how you live your life.. Being 30 is like the new 20's to me -except with ALOT more responsiblities and well privleges!! Being 30 is living in your prime and I have heard so many people say that being in your 30's is so much more than just that number, its much more meaningful and fulfilling!!
So with that being said... Happy 30th Birthday John.. I love you and I hope you have the best day!!

and 2nd... Its ELECTION DAY!!! This is considered a pretty historic election day and I can definitely see why.. for the first time a black man is running for the presidenticy and before that a woman was competing as well.
Now it is down to the peoples vote between 2 men and 2 different outlooks for this country..both whom have good and valid points and some not so much.
I took advantage of my right and my privlege today to go and make my vote. I'm happy I stood in line- as I stood in line there were young and old standing with me. Young as in 18 - 20-23- old as in 60's 70' and 80's.. We all took the time to vote on this day, we took the time to make sure that who ever is our next President will help our Country and make the changes needed..
So if you haven't already voted get out there and vote!! If you don't - dont bitch about who became the next president because in my book you have no right to bitch.. YOU DIDN'T VOTE!!! If the person you did vote for doesn't Win - then all you can say is at least you tried and you still got out there to make your vote count!!!

OBAMA??? or MCCAIN???? Who will it be..
