TUBES are OUT!!!

YAY!!!   T's tubes are out, they pushed themselves out of the ear drum and were just chillin in his canal. At his well check last week, the pedia informed me of this. So I just told her to wait, I would have the specialist do it since I had a follow up with them anyway, and Yep.. she was correct. they were in the canal - she grabbed them with little tweezer things, and Oh my. these things are minuscule.  So small..but I guess after imagining how small your eardrum is, they have to be.  She told me that both his ears look amazing, they are nice and pink - no longer flaming and bulged.. WOOHOOO..
So as long as T can maintain his healthyness, we won't have to worry about those ever again.
I am hoping and praying we don't have to go through that again, more for his sake than mine. but who knows because I had tubes twice and Daddi T had them once.  Happy Monday!!!

2 Year Stats for T

So I totally forgot to post this, On Monday T had his 2 year well check..
Stats:
Weight:  30lbs   75% percentile
Hieght: 36"        96% percentile
Head Cir:  19 1/2"  55% percentile
The Dr. said he looks amazing!!  His ears look great, except she thinks his tubes are out and just chilling in his ears. So I have to get him into the specialist to get them out.. she could of taken them but I would rather his EAR doc do  that.. He hasn't been sick in almost a year.  He recieved one shot which was his Hep A.. He did great, he was pissed but forgot about it quickly when given a lolli pop.
So I don't know if I ever said anything about T's hemigioma?
This is what it looks like, but this is just a pic off the internet..

They typically show up on the face and they are more prone to girls, but boys can get them as well. Basically a hemangioma is a build up of excess blood vessels on the skin.
Well T has one,
its on his shoulder and its been there since about 6 months old. It kinda looks like an arrow and somewhat of a heart.  Just recently though we noticed it started to become raised and bulged..its gray/blue underneath and from what I had read and what I was told from other moms that have kids with the same thing, this typically means it will begin to spread out and slowly disappear. Well, this turned gray/blue underneath and it bulged up, not down and out.. SOOO I asked the Doc, "whats up with that". She looked at it and was surprised and not very happy with the way it was looking. So she referred me to a Pediatric Dermotologist at Phx Childrens.  She is worried that it could possibly start growing into his muscle, and that is NOT good. So I made an appt for Sept. to get him in. Hopefully everything is fine and we wont have to have it surgically removed. It doesn't impair him and its just a Birthmark to us. I would hate to have him have a scar and I DO NOT want him to go under the knife again if thats what they even do.. So we will find out what they say when we go in.
All in all his appt went wonderfully, and he's growing right on track and even ahead..  =)

Tubes are in- the Recovery begins!!

This was supposed to be posted yesterday - but I i forgot to press the publish button.. oops..

YEA!!!!! Okay so it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be.. Thankfully one of my friends let me in on what happens and thank goodness she did- No IV's needed it was just a light sedation with gas..

So my night - morning kinda sucked - even after being reassured it wasn't as ivasive as it sounded and the fact that when I got tubes in my ears back then we were put OUT!! I was still somewhat of a nervous wreck.. So I did not sleep at all last night - I finally turned off the T.V. and passed, out at 2 am only to wake up to a crying baby at 3 am.. YAY for me.. Shitty for Tristan considering I wasn't able to give him a bottle to get him to go back to sleep. So he stayed up and cryed for a good hour and half until I broke down and gave him water.. He was cool with it until he realized I tricked him and then he was PISSED!! By then it was time to get going and he passed out in the car - Surgery was at 730 am and the Dr's came in and visited with John and Me and went over everything, asked numerous of questions- which I had no problem answering considering they asked the same questions oh about 3 times.. haha I don't care though.. Tristan was taken away and John and I waited in the waiting area.. 10 minutes later the Doc came in and said he was done, they were waking him up and went over some post op stuff. The one thing the Doc did say is that T definitely needed those tubes, there was quite a bit of fluid in his left ear - which we knew but he said there was also pus build up- did not know.. so they cleaned both of his ears- put tubes in and he said to expect quite a bit of drainage from his left ear as that one was the worse. the right one we can expect some but not alot.. I am so thankful and glad that we went through with getting T tubes, although I was scared about doing it so young I am hoping this leads us on the right path to getting my FUN, HAPPY GO LUCKY baby Boy BACK!!

Anyway- back on track here, They brought him to me and he was still out of it - gave him his bottle which he downed in 2 secs.. once he was finished with that- the crying began it made me kinda nervous because he NEVER cries like that unless he is in pain. So I asked the nurses probably like a million times if he was okay and they kept telling me it was normal when babies begin to come out of it.. Sooo.. there wasn't much John or I could do but let him cry and try our hardest to console him. Finally able to leave- we packed him in the carseat and off we went- and guess who passed right out!! hahah
We got home and I put T in our bed- since this is his favorite place and I laid with him for alittle while until he fell back to sleep.. I got up and did som things around the house and decided it was time to nap as well.. So I joined T and we napped until noon.. a good 3 hours!! It was Fantastic!!

So all in all T is doing great- he is already a completly different baby - and you can tell he is feeling SO much better - All that build up and pressure was relieved and I am so glad it was..
He goes back to Day care on Friday and I go back to work. I wish I was able to stay home full time with my lil T, but I can't..

Tubes - Tomorrow

To catch up here -
Tristan had somewhat of a setback last week- Thursday to be exact- he broke out with a cold yet again and started wheezing and coughing - so Thursday Morning I called the pediatrician to get him in and make sure we could get some medicine in his system before it got worse and his surgery postponed..
Our Pedia gave him meds and we started the nebulizer again.. She told me that when I come back for his re-check, if he is still wheezing and his lungs sound bad - she will postpone the surgery!! FECK!!! I really didn't want to postpone this surgery - I know these tubes are going to help him and postponing would just be asking for more ear infections and more sickness - So Thank the lord that today when we went in to the pedia she cleared him for his surgery tomorrow.. His lungs sound way better - his cough is gone so we are set.. We have to be there at 6 in the morning which means we have to leave our house at 5:15 ish...Oh and the best part HA Tristan can not eat or drink anything after Midnight - so this should be an interesting drive to the surgery center. Since his first bottle is typically at 6 am..
On the flip side.. I'm scared shit less of this surgery - I try hard not to think about it and try not to think of what could happen etc.. "if "anything happened to my T man - I seriously don't know what I would do - I know I would not be okay and my life as I knew it would change forever, okay I'm done thinking about that~ but its starting to get to me. ALOT!! So I hope I can hold it together tomorrow and stay calm for T's sake.. :( Luckily John is coming with us - so if I do lose it he will be there to snap me outta of it.. Please keep your thoughts with us tomorrow and T's surgery goes exactly as planned with no problems and comes out of his "twilight" alright!!
And I leave you with some new photos of my Lil Dude.. :0)
He's so stinkin cute! look at them cheeks.. :)

Oh- Shoot look who is learning to drink out of a sippy cup!!

T's gotta a new Tonka Truck!!! Woohooo..

Scheduled for Surgery and Updates

Tristan has been scheduled for his surgery to get his tubes in his ear's on April 8th.. I hope its as painless and quick as they say it will be- because as of the last week or so I have gotten my Tristan back and its WONDERFUL! I love knowing he is in a happy mood and nothing is bothering him. :0)
His surgery will be at 7:30 in the morning and we have to be there at 6 am.. He is not allowed to eat after midnight and I'm not so sure he is going to be to happy about this especially when we wake him up at 5 in the morning to leave for the hospital and no bottle! Oh boy the world will end for him with no bottle.. So I'm sure that's going to be an exciting drive.. YAY!!
John will be taking that day off and chillen at home with me and T.. The Dr's said that the first day is usually good but very slow and he will obviously be very drowsy etc.. the next day should be back to somewhat of a normal and I will be staying home with him that day to.. On Friday he will go back to daycare - so long as everything goes good and he is not bothered by the tubes etc.. My brother's I'm sure love me.. =)

April 9th he will be 9 months old as well and I had to change his 9 month check up to the following week, I think surgery is enough for him for one week let alone being stabbed 3 times for more vaccinations.. So I backed it up to the following Thursday (I think) shoot I can't remember now..

Anyway - 9 months!!! AAACK!!! Had baby, Check -- Got Married - Check.. Relax?? I think not!! Now its time to plan Mr. T's 1st B-day!! I'm so excited to do so.. but I need a breather for awhile of not planning anything so I might put this off for about a month so I can do NOTHING but enjoy my time with my baby boy and my new husband.. hahah I say New like John is "sooo new" to me.. too funny..

I think we are going to go to San Diego in May and head to the San Diego Zoo.. and Mission Bay.. I'm excited.. it will be our 2nd road trip as a family and we might be going just by ourselves or with a few friends either way - I'm excited!!

~First week of married life~ Blissful~~~
~~Cheers~~

~Tubes~

That is what The T man will be getting in about 2 weeks.. Yep, we had yet another episode of constant crying and pulling, tugging at his ears last night.. I'm running on mmmm maybe 2 hours of sleep.. Sucks but I have a lot going on.
So today I called the specialist Ear Nose and Throat Doc to be exact since my Pediatrician gave it to me on Friday after T's recheck on fri. showing of course no progress in the medicine helping his ears heal up!! RIDICULOUS! This would be thanks to his Mom and Dad. We both were prone to ear infections as babies - I have had tubes in my ears twice and John once. If you don't have kids this is the dealio.. Babies are small :) So are there ears and there Eustachian tube which is "supposed" to drain fluid etc. Well, babies Eustachian tubes do not point down like adults do. They lay flat so to say.. So all that fluid has no place to go - which in turn causes bacteria - which causes an infection, then inflammation then fever and UNCONTROLLABLE crying and pain.. Yes its VERY painful and I know exactly what my little man is going through - its sucks and it hurts so bad.. So after doping him up on Tylenol, ear numbing drops and some TLC He finally feel asleep- elevated of course because this is the best way for them to sleep when they have earaches.. a heating pad would be great as well but I'm nervous leaving that in his crib all night and on since mine gets pretty hot even when on the lowest setting- Hot compresses work to and calm him down..
So this morning I called the Specialist and well what do ya know - I can't get in till next thurs. So I call my pedia back and tell them I need "something" anything to help him in the mean time. They called me back and said - we got you in with the Specialist.. YAY!! So I went and this is what they said.. He needs tubes. He has been on every medicine we can give him and he is not taking to it.. Tubes would be in your best interest and his.. So - that's what we will do. I have no other choice - unless I want him to suffer and I'm just not going to do that.. I know how it feels and I think it could probably be the worst feeling in the world.. I would even rank it worse than giving birth (well having a C-section) I would do that again over having an ear infection any day!!
So they are supposed to call me at the end of the week to let me know the details on his outpatient surgery, times and get an exact day. She also gave me some antibiotics to get me through the next ten days in hopes it clears up his ears some more and we can have a good week and weekend considering this week is going to be hectic for the Wedding!!
anyway - that's the update.. :0)
