Even straighter than when it was before, you see because John always used to say that I always had somewhat of crooked nose and I would always tell him to go pound sand. How dare he tell me I had a crooked nose!! Apparently though, I did.
I went in on Friday morning to have my nose fixed and when I arrived at the hospital, the nurses I'm not gonna lie were kinda frazzled at the fact that I was 38 weeks preg and about to have a procedure done on there floor. I arrived at 730 am and it took forever to be admitted, but once I was things were rolling. I met quite a few people, I had regular nurses, L&D nurses, anesthesiologist, my Doctor. I felt the popularity!
Anyway- they decided to not do a light sedation with a local, due to the fact that I was 38 weeks and that they were going to have to set my nose, the man with the drugs wanted me out, but before making that move we discussed it and discussed what it would do to the baby. After being reassured that the baby, would end up getting sleepy but would snap back out of it, we were good to go. I was monitored by the L&D nurses and fetal monitors were hooked up. I was wheeled into the back and put out like a light switch. The sleep you go into is the most amazing sleep ever, even if it is only for 10 minutes literally that's how long the procedure was. It felt like 10 hours of sleep though. After I woke, my first question was, how is the baby? GREAT. 2nd question, is my nose straight, "as it will ever be" I heard the Dr say.. PERFECT and off to la la land I went for a little longer.
The baby was definitely sleepy, but heart rate remained good and movement was slowed. They ended up keeping me and moving me to triage, because the on call OB preferred I be monitored for about 2 hours, and he saw a slight dip in M's baseline heart rate. So that kinda made me nervous, but I was reassured all was well.
After being there for about 2 hours, we were released and my mom and I headed home.. I have a splint on my nose that I have to wear until this coming Friday, but really its not going to last! Its itchy and kind of weird. Sometimes I forget about it and then I get the stares from people, like "What the hell happened to her?" Even more so when my husband is with me. HA if they only knew!
Before leaving my Doctor came in to see me and talk to me, he in fact said "hey you didn't happen to have a slight crookedness to your nose previously, did you?" I just laughed and said you know what my husband told me all the time I had a slight curvature. The Dr. said yea, I had to wrench on you to bring your nose back, not to mention it was already starting to set. He wasn't kidding, because Saturday morning I woke up and I felt like a had gotten hit by a freight train, my neck, upper back and jaw felt horrible. They were so sore, I was just like what the hell happened to me.
So all is well in the nose department, I am so glad I was able to get this fixed before having M. One less thing to worry about and now we just wait for M to make his arrival. I'm getting super excited and anxious all at the same time.
I will post before and afters once I take the splint off. The difference should hopefully be huge!! I'm excited myself to see it.

Plan of Action
I went and had a 2nd opinion about my nose, due to my gut feeling. I just felt like the other Dr. right off the bat was like "yep, surgery", Everything is surgery anymore these days, more money for you, less money for me!! WTF.. So I made an appt, with my Son's ENT that we took him to for his ears. Before I did I researched him to find out that he does in fact do facial reconstruction on the nose!! PERFECT! So they got me in yesterday and he basically told me that the other Dr. was right as well, but going about it in the wrong way. I can have my nose fixed with being this far along, it just takes some approvals from the OB and so on. Once we got to talking, he made it seem like it was so much easier and straight forward than the other Dr, quite frankly I felt a 100 times better sitting in that chair! I felt like he really took the time, explained my options which were only two and one had to have the approval of my ob!
I decided to go with the best option to get my nose back, and with out harming my baby. After making some quick phone calls to my OB, she gladly approved and jokingly said, "maybe we can knock two birds out with one stone", We shall see!! Friday I go in to the hospital at 730 am to have him snap my nose back in place. For the procedure I will be put under a light sedation and nothing that will harm my baby (believe me I crossed my T's and dotted my I's) when we were discussing these options. I will be monitored by the L&D nurses while the procedure happens which is a mere 5 minute thing.. I will be monitored there after for a few hours and then sent on my way.
I am super happy about getting my nose fixed, I feel confident that this is the right decision, and now I no longer will have to deal with it after the baby is born. Which is a huge relief!

Beat up by my 3 Year old!
Yea literally!! T broke my nose!! On Sunday night, we were doing our nightly routine and he likes to lay in our bed before going to bed. So as I'm getting him settled in and I sit on the bed, a flying head comes back and straight up hits me right in my nose!! It hurt so bad, that I flew back, called for John and I could here T crying. John came in to find me laying back holding my face and grabbed T who was crying and asked me if I was ok, I couldn't honestly speak the pain that radiated through out my face was the worse pain I have ever felt, of course I started crying and John was trying to make sure I didn't pass out on him by talking to me, which I wanted nothing to do with talking. When John got T settled he came over to me to see if I was ok, luckily I wasn't bleeding and I got up to check out the damage. From what I could see, there was nothing there, and John really couldn't tell either. He did however try to grab at it and see if he could feel and I think I almost whacked him in the face. So painful!! So I got ice and iced it for awhile took some good ole Tylenol since that's all I can take. It swelled up pretty good, and the throbbing was ridiculous. I have never been hit in my face before let alone broken anything. So this pain was new.
Next morning I wake up and I still can;t really tell, I have some swelling and mild bruising under my eyes, that honestly just look like bags from no sleep. I walked into work and with in two seconds of my brothers looking at me they immediately were like WTF happened to your nose. Yep good indicator shits broken!
I made an appt with my PCP, and as soon as she walked in, she was like "oh, ohhhh", Hmm doesn't sound so promising. She tells me its definitely broken, but where? it could be be broken in 1- 2 or 3 places.. Awesome. I can't have an xrays so she sends me to ENT that specializes in the Nose department.
I see him, and before even bringing me into the room, he saw me come in and looked at me and said Oh yea he did some damage(my son that is) Promising!! Way to let me down easy!!
So he came in took a look, pulled and tugged and I wanted to punch him!! Said I broke it at the very top of my nose as well as the bottom.. I don't know much about noses, I realize you can break it, there's cartilage in there etc, but apparently from the way T hit me, it was straight on and high, not like a punch to the nose.
He told me there was nothing he could do until after I have M. and by that he meant surgery!! So I will be having surgery one week after I have M. If M comes on his own like I so want him to, I can move the date up, if I go in for my scheduled Csection than I go in on the 16th..
Who would have ever thought a 3 year old could do this much damage?? Not me, that's for sure!!
This all happened so fast, that I don't even remember, how, what or why? I didn't even have time to move, or get out of the way!!
I swear I can't catch a break with my pregnancies. Both of them have never gone smoothly.
With M, I have had Preterm labor, an accident, and now this.
With T, I had swelling, high blood pressure and a csection that caused me to stay in the hospital for 4 1/2 days along with a blood transfusion!! Oiiiii
So now I get to rock a crooked nose for about 3 weeks, i am so hoping M makes his appearance sooner than later, so I can get this done and over with..
This is the aftermath, My BIL took this picture yesterday so I could see what they were all seeing, because I really couldn't see it just looking in the mirror..
